Attention all members: Maroochydore Hockey Club Committee wishes to advise all players (junior & senior) that we have a compulsory meeting next Tuesday 22nd May 2012 straight after training in the SCHA clubhouse. Meeting times are as follows: 6:30pm - All Juniors (J3, J2, J1 boys and girls) - player conduct and general feedback on junior development. ** Junior parents are encouraged to attend as we would like your feedback, some of you have already mentioned some things you would like to see for your children* 7:30pm - All Seniors (Div 3, Div 2, Div 1 men and women) - player conduct. Please ensure you make yourself available for the relevant meetings. Any questions please do not hesitate to contact one of the committee members via the email or telephone contacts. We are hosting 3 BBQ sausage sizzle fundraiser events this season, they are now team allocated. Please ensure you wear closed in shoes for all BBQ's as part of the safety requirements for the venues. If you have club shirts please wear them too. The dates and team allocations are as follows: Sunday 20th May 2012 - Erbachers Fruit and Veg Store, Bli Bli 9am - 3pm Management setup & pack up - Chantelle Lamb & Luke Ehrenberg Teams - J1 Boys; J1 Girls; Div 3 Men; Div 1 Men Sunday 27th May 2012 - Officeworks Maroochydore 9am - 4:30pm Management setup & pack up - Kerry Liebenberg & Michael Blake Teams - J3 Boys; J3 Girls; Div 2 Women; Div 3 Women Sunday 17th June 2012 - Erbachers Fruit and Veg Store, Bli Bli 9am - 3pm Management set up and pack up - Grendell Antony & Ed Hamill Snr Teams - J2 Boys; J2 Girls; Div 1 Women; Div 2 Men Over the next few weeks, at training and games, the delegated management for these days will be asking the allocated teams to supply names of volunteers assisting on the above dates. Please ensure you turn up if you have put your name down to help out. If you cannot make the allocated day for your team but want to help out on another day please feel free to do so and advise us asap so we can inform the relevant management. |

Umpire awareness week THIS IS COMPULSORY FO ALL MALE AND FEMALE SENIOR PLAYERS! It is advised that all coaches and any juniors that play up into senior teams attend. Each session will run for approximately 1 hour and is “An Introduction to the Basic Rules of Hockey”. The dates and times available are: Wednesday 2nd May 2012 – 6:30pm or 7:30pm Thursday 3rd May 2012 – 6:30pm or 7:30pm Tuesday 8th May 2012 – 6:30pm or 7:30pm ***this is our training night and it might suit most of you to attend this night instead of making a special trip out here. These Rules awareness sessions will be run by the SCHA and the umpire coordinators. It will be held at the above times at the SCHA clubhouse. Please ensure you make yourself available for one of the above time slots. You do not have to RSVP or email me regarding this; any further information can be obtained from SCHA or Umpire coordinators Kerryl Chandler (seniors) or Neil Owers (juniors). |

Congratulations to Maddi Lawrence who has just returned from the U18 Australian National Championships where she played for the Queensland team. Queensland won gold in the final against Victoria 6-1. |

Hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed this amazing weather! A massive thank you to all members and their families who volunteered this weekend at the Hockeyroos vs USA test series. It was a great weekend of hockey. It seems like ages since we have all been able to train but the good news is training is back on from tomorrow Tuesday 10th April 2012. Games recommence this week however not all teams play so please ensure you either check the SCHA website under the fixtures section or contact you team coach or manager to find out for information. |

UPDATE MARCH 29: UNFORTUNATELY ALL GRASS FIXTURES THIS SATURDAY HAVE BEEN POSTPONED AGAIN AND WILL BE PLAYED ON MAY 5TH. THE GROUNDS ARE STILL UNPLAYABLE. HOWEVER THE TWO DIV 3 MEN FIXTURES HAVE BEEN TRANSFERRED TO THIS SUNDAY. Hi all this is an update today from SCHA.
